Internal Rotary Inspection System (IRIS)

Internal Rotary Inspection System (IRIS)

An internal Rotary Inspection System (IRIS) is an ultrasonic method for the non-destructive testing of pipes and tubes. The IRIS probe is inserted into a tube that is flooded with water and the probe is pulled out slowly as the data is displayed and recorded. The ultrasonic beam allows the detection of metal loss from the inside and outside of the tube wall.
The IRIS technology helps identify defects in both ferrous & non-ferrous metals by providing a 3D picture of the defects to be rectified. This inspection technology is leveraged to identify defects across several integral types of equipment such as Air Fin coolers, Heat – Exchangers, Boilers & Process pipes.
